Creative and Reuseable Baby Shower Gift Packaging

originally uploaded by ZeeBree.
With all the recent wall letters I have done, I was finally given the opportunity put them in a package for a baby shower gift. I purchased a small basket at a local arts and craft store (never leave home without a coupon), and carefully selected a basket that matched the baby's room decor. One of the worst things you could do, is to pick a random basket that doesn't match the room. Picking the right basket is very important. If it won't be used by the recipient, you might as well stick them in a cheap gift bag!

I added a small letter that was decoupaged with the same Peter Rabbit book and tied it into the bow. This is a very quick and easy solution to gift packaging and most of all, almost everything is re-usable. :)

Thanks for Reading! :)

Peter Rabbit Wooden Wall letters

A close friend of mine is expecting her first baby in a few weeks.  What do you get the woman that has everything?  Well, her nursery theme is Peter Rabbit, compete with the Pottery Barn Kids Peter Rabbit Nursery bedding.  From the moment  I saw her room, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for her baby shower.

I started off by finding a Peter Rabbit book on Ebay, that contained a lot of illustrations.  While it hurt me to rip apart this book, it was put to good use, and as you can see it was for a great cause. :)  I then decoupaged the pages to the letters, and applied coordinating paint to the edges to create a one-of-a-kind gift.

Would you believe me if I told you that I have never seen my wall letters actually hanging on a wall? :)  Thank you to Riley's mom who sent me a picture of the finished product!
